Limitations with physical mobility shouldn’t pose a barrier to move around freely. Regain your freedom through the use of mobility aids or equipment now readily available, like electric mobility scooters, the popular ones, and an obvious choice for several individuals. The demand for these scooters has increased over the years, and they come in several designs to best suit your needs and lifestyle. However, with the electric mobility scooter, several misconceptions and misleading facts are floating around their aspects and functions. Believing these myths can negatively affect an electric scooter’s long-term operation and dissuade you from benefiting from it. To help you steer clear some of these misbeliefs, Triple M Mobility has debunked two of the most widely believed myths about electric mobility scooters.

Myth1: All mobility scooters use one battery.

This is a widely believed myth and completely untrue about the electric mobility scooter! Almost all electric mobility scooters and electric power wheelchairs use two twelve volt-sealed lead-acid batteries or a gel battery. Unless it’s a lightweight folding traveling scooter that uses a lithium battery. Lithium battery powered scooters have a downside due to the price, as it’s often much higher than that of a sealed lead-acid battery. In fact, with modern electric scooters, a large part of the price is likely to cost due to the battery, especially if they are lithium.

Myth 2: Mobility scooter can be stored for a long time without charging.

This is a common myth plaguing the industry, just like a car, if you don’t turn it on for a very long time, the car battery will die. It’s the same when it comes to an electric mobility wheelchair or scooter. If the battery is ideal for too long, cells present within them drain out and die, so once it gets below a certain threshold and if it sits for too long, then it’s a wrap! Most of the time, these batteries won’t take charge.
